Phase 006: Arthur's Seat
Holyrood park. The pointy bit there in the middle is Arthur's seat,
the highest point in Edinburgh. And I'm going to climb it.
A little up the hill, and there lies a pool of water. Too small
for a lake, too large for a pond. Maybe it's a lond. Or a pake.
The climb is steeper than it looks. Either that, or I'm just more
out of shape than I realize.
It's a little difficult to read, but this is the plaque describing
Arthur's Seat, how high it is (250 m) and what sorts of things to can
see by looking around.
Oh look, there's Edinburgh!
The Firth of Forth.
Oooh, the view.
On a clear day, you can see... Leith.
How about I take the easy way down the back, then?
I conquered that... right there.
It's hard to tell here, but it is a long way down.
Oh look, geese.
The ruins of St. Anthony's Chapel, perched high atop a cliff.
It doesn't look like there's that much perching going on in this
picture, but trust me, it's perching up the wazoo.
Phase 007: Holyrood Palace
At the bottom of Holyrood Park likes Holyrood Palace.
Now that's a big door.
Nice courtyard.
Seven fiddy? This better be one helluva palace.
And the water's not even running in the fountain!
At least the Abbey is cool.
And it's lost it's top.
