WELCOME TO WINTER 2008!! IMPORTANT Recently, the ole spam intake valve has been getting quite clogged, spitting out a number of chunks of unwanted sludge. It's starting to appear that someone has been harvesting the email addresses off the NUTS web site. To counteract this unscrupulous bit of chicanery, I'm going to enforce a new policy here at NUTS Central... The email addresses that appear in the main text of the newsletter (and the web site) will be updated to remove the at sign (@) from the address, and replaced with a dollar sign ($). This will make addresses look like: nutsinfo$yahoo.ca. Since this is nothing like a valid email address, robots should pass over it. (If they do catch it, they'll be dumping emails into a black hole that's not unlike their own cold, black hearts.) Unfortunately, this means that it will take at least one more step when clicking on a mailto: link, in that the $ will have to be manually replaced with an @ in order for the address to make sense again. Some mailers will add "@yourdomain.com" at the end, so you'll have to clean that up too. We apologize for any inconvenience. Read old site update information from 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002. 
N.U.T.S. stands for Newhire and Undergraduate Team Spirit. We're a very informal group of co-ops and full-timers focused on having fun and enjoying the splendors of life by:
We are based at Alcatel-Lucent and have social partnerships with Nortel, Corel, Cognos and other major institutions across the city. This means we invite them to our events and they invite us to theirs. This triples the number of people we meet, the events we have and the fun we all have together!
Everything happens through the NUTS mailing list. Using the mailing
list, we send out the weekly NUTS Juice and Gin newsletter to
over 550 subscribers across the Ottawa region. The Juice
and Gin contains everything from a listing of upcoming NUTS
events to a Humour section and includes opinion pieces written by
anybody who feels like submitting that week.
